I find bliss in Queens on Rockaway Beach. In the summer, the ocean, the salt air, and sunlight soothes
and frees your spirit. At sunset, I love to sit on the boardwalk with a cup of tea and read a book, especially sea related
stories. I'll read even till dark when the boardwalk lamps have come on. In the winter, the beach looks and feels
amazing, too, with the snow. - Eleanor Remeczky
I find Bliss in Queens walking to Crocheron Park on sunny summer Saturday mornings with my sons, Jack and Quinn.
We often see the firetrucks pulled up to practice drills, causing the children to eagerly rush forward - only to stand shyly
staring up at their heros. Next we head toward the playground. True joy is seeing them flex their budding egos, climbing so
quickly up the ladder, and running across the bouncy bridge. Shrieking with joy, they speed down the slide, then run pell
mell to the basketball court. Too young yet to really play, they run toward the fence, trying to put their small feet into
the holes, and climb up. Hot now, they turn their attention to the shell shaped sprinklers, cool jets of water shooting out.
They bravely rush into the water, stomping in the puddles laughing, yelling "Mommy come in too!" Who
can resist? Bliss in Queens. - Jennifer Roberts, Ph.D.
